Sweet Mona’s-The Big Sing

The documentary traces the evolution of the Sweet Mona’s Choir from Ballarat, Australia. Like the choir the doco uses multiple voices to tell the story, closeup interviews, live footage and photographs. The mass of material documented over ten years, together with the new footage shot specifically for the doco provided a rich source from which to carve this film. The directors’ intimate knowledge of the material ensures that the uniquely inspiring sound of this choir, its evolution, longevity and impact on the community comes through in the quality of the story telling. This documentary has been broadcast on both ABC 1 & 2 nationally a number of times. This program was produced and directed by Verity Higgins and David Brown in conjunction with Yarrowee Productions. Running time 36 minutes.
